A beret cap is a fully wool or wool blended hat with tight headband and soft full flat top. The practicality of the beret has made it a single product of uniforms for the military and police.

Berets become popular in 19th century in France and Spain. There are different kinds of berets, some are liked by the civilians and fashions while some are used in military and police.

The characteristic of the military beret is that the headband or sweatband is attached to the wool. It is made of leather, silk or fabric webbing, also with a drawstring to allow the wearer to tighten the hat.
